When I went abroad to study, I slowly began to feel like I was losing pieces of home. My friends and family suddenly felt far away — sometimes so far that even technology couldn't really bridge the distance.
But there were things that kept me connected to the life I was building there. The morning cup of Americano. The streets outside. Watching strangers go about their day, each person carrying their own story, trying to make both ends meet. There was something about that everyday hustle that felt strangely familiar.
When I moved back to India in 2021, a lot had changed.
But the drive remained the same.
For the first time, I felt like I belonged in both corners of the world.
Therefore, I created this piece titled "Galis of Brooklyn," an amalgamation of a world where visas did not even exist.
All that existed was the hustle..
