I spent two years working in the fashion industry, and somewhere along the way, I began looking beyond the finished garment.

During a visit to Rajasthan for a fabric embellishment, I saw women weaving carpets and fabrics by hand. Watching them work, I remember thinking, this is their talent. This is their craft. And yet, for all that skill, they were being paid so little for it.

That stayed with me.

It made me realise that this isn't limited to one place. It isn't just Rajasthan or Panipat. Across India, there are countless towns and communities where generations of people possess incredible craftsmanship, yet their work remains undervalued.

We celebrate the finished product. We rarely think about the hands behind it.

Folk Tales is my reflection on those hands, those stories, and the talent that often goes unseen.
