I’ve always been drawn to the drama of old Bollywood cinema, where every character carried a story larger than life. The Great Escape draws inspiration from these narratives and reimagines them through a fictional heist that unfolds on the move.

At the centre is a Kathak performer, caught between elegance and intrigue, driving through the night with a secret more valuable than the journey itself. Rumour has it the Kohinoor has changed hands, though the truth remains hidden somewhere between fact and fiction. The truck becomes a travelling stage. A gramophone suggests music without a single note being heard. Buddhist bells hang quietly, carrying a sense of ritual and memory. A loyal dog rests beside the unfolding drama, while the blur of black and white beyond the windows creates the feeling of relentless motion.

This work is less about the heist itself and more about the characters, symbols, and stories that travel with us. It invites the viewer into a world where cinema, folklore, and imagination share the same road.
