Creating carpets has always been a challenge creating a maximalist work on top of something so historical and intricate is a challenge, But I think I pushed myself further in crerasting a indo- Japanese scenario. I have 0 clue on why I am so triggered with Japanese culture. Is it the history ? The historical art has so much expression in it. They realism is needed to capture emotions but a simple illustration tells us so much about the japanese mythology. I am still hooked onto the statement where people used to think dragons existed in the past. Where as what they discovered were dinosaurs fossil fuels. Or did we just get the whole thing wrong. An ideal world ? A land where I could mix my indianness , have the japanese architecture along with my obsession with dragons. Why is it always the woman who are my centre subjects ? Its the empathy factor. A symbol that can understand what sort of world I am trying to create and the eyes can resonate with the audience accordingly.
