The concept of this piece is mixed with our history. The original composition was actually made by a British artist. Made me wonder how really the lady was feeling while standing in-front of the artist. Was she told to be there for the artist or was it for herself ? What was the situation like ? Especially when British ruling over. Not that I know the truth but gives me a sort uneasiness even thinking about it. So my take on this piece was that if I get the chance to paint her as. An artist in the contemporary what would my perspective be like. Something I really wonder about.
